Covid-19 Guidelines

Following the Welsh Government announcement on 23rd April 2021, which will come into force on the 24th April 2021, Pontypool Golf Club have updated the guidelines according to Wales Golf Guidelines.

From Sunday April 25th 3-Balls and 4-Balls from multiple households are allowed when playing golf.

Physical distancing guideline and industry guidelines must be adhered to before, during and after the round,

Covid-19 Guidelines

Below are the protocols for playing golf that all members will HAVE TO adhere to.

SAFEGUARD AND PROTOCOL FOR MEMBERS WISHING TO PLAY
on behalf of the Board of Directors of Pontypool Golf Club

  • No access to clubhouse.
  • Social distancing in car park.
  • Members MUST ring the professional 01495763655 (ext 2 )to BOOK a tee time between 8.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m.. Bookings must be made during these hours.
  • Only arrive at the club 10 minutes before tee time, change shoes in the car park, make yourself known to the professional through Proshop window and after golf leave immediately.
  • Pro Shop not allowed to open, only click and collect is available.
  • The locker room will be closed except for one visit to collect clubs and emergency toilet facilities, one person in locker room at a time. Please pick up your clubs and shoes from lockers and take them home with you. This is a temporary measure.
  • Trolley Shed will be open for members to keep trolleys but one person only in the trolley shed.
  • The outside of the club is marked out in two metre squares for social distancing. Please follow directional arrows.
  • Members can book a tee to play until 6.00 p.m.
  • Only one tee time per member – tee times will be at 10 minute intervals.
  • No block bookings allowed until further notice.
  •  A member will be allowed to book up to three tee times a week if staggered.
  • If a member books a time, but fails to turn up and doesn’t inform the professional/secretary they might incur a penalty.
  • Members must start on the first hole only and not walk out on the course to start at other holes.
  • A notice on buggy compound gate notifying members that only one person at a time allowed in buggy compound.
  • Only one club buggy to be available and will be sanitised before and after use.
  • Members will be asked to respect the guidelines or disciplinary action may be taken.
  • Members are reminded that they play on the course at their own risk.
  • The professional is offering a click and collect service with any goods ordered left outside the shop during opening hours.
  • Any past members of the club who wish to empty their locker or pick up their trolley please make an appointment with the professional.
  • Please do not congregate around the club.
