Established in 1903, Pontypool Golf Club is a private members club that
is wholly owned and run by our members. Our
Mission Statement is that we will be a
recognized leader in providing a high quality experience by ensuring
that our facilities and service exceed the expectations of our members,
our customers and our employees.
Pontypool Golf Club has a fully stocked Proshop, a snooker room, well-equipped ladies and gents changing rooms and a fully licensed Bar and Restaurant, with a large Function Room which can be booked for private parties, conferences, weddings etc.. The restaurant, bar and function room are on the first floor, and the views over the golf course and Bristol Channel provide an impressive backdrop for all events.
Our golf practice facilities include a driving range, a short game practice area, a warm up net, a practice putting green, and an indoor golf academy which features a Foresight GR2 golf simulator on which you can play any one of 9 top courses.
If the weather is or has been inclement you can call 01495-763655 option 4 to check whether the course is open and buggies are allowed.
Visitors are always welcome at Pontypool Golf Club, and can play at any time or on any day, but please call the Pro Shop (01495-763655 ext 2) before coming to check availability of a tee time in case a group or Society is booked in.
Saturday mornings are usually reserved for members' competitions until
2.30pm, and various members groups may have blocks of tee times reserved during the week.
Golf Societies and groups are very welcome but must book and make the necessary arrangements in advance. Please see our Golf page for information on green fees, society packages etc..
Our PGA Golf Professional Leon
Warne has had
over 25 years of experience at Peterstone, Royal Porthcawl and the
Grove Golf Clubs in South Wales.
Leon’s passion is coaching and inspiring golfers of all abilities to achieve their goals.
Leon has a broad knowledge of coaching methods, individually tailoring the needs and goals to each individual pupil.
His Proshop is very well stocked and competitively priced.
Golf Lessons are available for all golfers including those thinking of starting the game even if not members.
Leon has installed a Foresight GR2 Golf Simulator in the Golf Academy.

Lockers, buggy and trolley storage, are available for members to rent.
Our 1st team, 2nd team and Wayfarers and play in their local leagues throughout the Spring and Summer months.
The Seniors Section is open to all members over 55, and our Seniors meet every Monday and Thursday at 12 in the Summer and 11 in the winter. They also play Home and Away games against 7 other clubs throughout the Spring and Summer months.
The Ladies Section play every Tuesday and Thursday between 10.00 and 11.00.

As from today 20th July flagsticks may be removed and rakes are back in bunkers. As a result members are expected to carry their own hand sanitizer with them as per Wales golf recommendations. And bun…
